SRS Newswire   ||    Apr 21, 2010 - SRS officers attending World Climate Conference in Cochabamba, Bolivia

Dr. Spence presented with Limited Edition Charmex watch.

May 02, 2010 - On April 31, 2010, Montres Charmex SA of Switzerland presented Sea Research Society's president, Dr. E. Lee Spence with one of their limited edition CX Swiss Military Watches. This model watch is already world famous as in 2009 it more than doubled the old record (held by Rolex) for the deepest diving capability of any watch as certified by the Guinness Book of World's Records. The watch has an incredible water resistance of 20’000 feet or 6’000 meters.

The presentation was made at the International Diving Institute in Charleston, South Carolina, by Christoph R. Malzl, President, Charmex North America, who flew in from Springville, Utah, to make the presentation. Dr. Spence is also Executive Vice President of the International Diving Institute.

Only 1000 of these watches will ever be made. Mr. Malzl said that Dr. Spence was awarded the watch in honor of his lifetime of discoveries, but especially for his having discovered another technological marvel, the Civil War submarine Hunley.

Explanatory Note: As in the Society's related website (www.shipwrecks.com), general topics to be covered through this site are marine biology, underwater archaeology, underwater habitats, shipwrecks, and the archaeological salvage of artifacts, bronze cannons, gold & silver bullion, and coins. There will be lists of wrecks (including but not limited to Civil War shipwrecks, Confederate blockade runners, Florida wrecks, Caribbean shipwrecks, New York shipwrecks, Great Lakes shipwrecks, shipwrecks of Wreck Valley, the Mediterranean Sea, the Indian Ocean, Pacific Ocean, and Atlantic Ocean). Although nautical archaeology is currently the main focus of the Society it has a great interest in oceanography, marine wildlife conservation, global climate change and environmental issues. It is even interested in the history of pirates, Spanish galleons and their sunken, lost and buried treasures. Regardless of whether your interests involves free diving, hardhat diving, surface supplied air diving, or scuba diving, the Sea Research Society (SRS) and its Partner the International Diving Institute will be here to share information and help ansewer your questions. Despite how it comes up in some searches, it is not and will never be a site for free porn or anything similar.
